Jean works closely with builders on design/build or remodeling projects.

She is able to assist contractors by  sourcing custom and manufactured products within a given time frame on multi-faceted projects. In doing so allows the contractor to be more cost effective in the areas of construction. A crucial benefit to both client and contractor.

Jean extends these services to include space planning and design of areas needing more detailed attention i.e. custom kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, closet design, wine cellars - which fall within the scope of the building project.

Whether you require design services to include detailed plans or just need help to update a tired interior through our decorating services, Jean is here to help you achieve your goal, on time and within budget.

Jean  will gladly set up an initial consultation to discuss your space planning needs and budget constraints, as applied to an individual room, entire home or office interior.

As an interior designer and decorator Jean does not impose her will on clients, choosing to help them develop their own ideas, and offer alternatives. She may suggest a traditional, contemporary or ethnically inspired theme, dependent on the comfort level you wish to achieve.

Following initial meeting, Jean will prepare a preliminary floor plan and elevations.  Conceptual drawings and renderings when necessary. This could include custom cabinetry and furniture, designed by Jean and crafted locally. Should you wish to develop further, Jean will walk you through the design process and recommend the services of individuals and products appropriate to the design, budget and time allowed.

Jean follows a project from start to finish including all stages of installation.

 Space Planning & Custom Design

Jean specializes in space planning and the  design of custom cabinetry,  which translates into notable, ‘bespoke’ kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, closet design and wine cellars.

She was formerly trained as a designer by a UK firm, ' Smallbone of Devizes', who established an international reputation for its unique approach to space planning and design of custom interiors with style, function, quality and durability in its cabinetry, often applying historic paint techniques.

Jean now offers this level of detail in all her work and is able to achieve this by representing a unique group of cabinetmakers and artists in Maine, who offer quality work at reasonable cost. Well versed in upscale products, she puts a lot of effort to stay on the cutting edge of this constantly changing field, recommending appliances, fixtures, etc to be incorporated into the custom design as a whole.
